Black winter truffles,( t. indicum), are preserved at their peak in brine. Keep in mind, with preserved black truffles, that the flavor will be extremely mild, and they will probably have little aroma. That being said, there is a great use for preserved truffles, especially during the months where fresh truffles can't be found. A little sautéing in truffle butter or truffle oil will release the flavor of these little truffles. This product is the perfect way to experiment with truffles without much cost. Think of them as a dress rehearsal until it's showtime! A product of France.
